Job Title: Injection Mould Production Lead

Location: Bridgend

Employment Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hrs per week

Salary: £32000-£38000 DOE

Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Injection Mould Production Lead to join our well-established client based in the Bridgend area.

Job Description:


You will be an integral part of the business, contributing to the production upholding the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a vital role in optimising production processes, maintaining the highest hygiene standards and driving operational efficiency within our manufacturing facility.

To set and process injection moulds for the manufacture of polymer components to an acceptable level of quality and meet specification, whilst ensuring production schedules and targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up injection moulds to ensure injection moulded parts are produced to specification.

  • Safely operate powered mobile equipment i.e. overhead crane / Fork lift to enable change injection mould change over.

  • Proactively maintain moulds and machines to support preventative maintenance strategies.

  • Work with engineers, and/or other management personnel to set up, operate, and debug equipment.

  • Ensure tool changes are completed in a timely manner to achieve production targets / plan.

  • Program injection mould machines, pick and place robots and other ancillary equipment to optimise processes.

  • Provide ownership and input of injection moulding process and equipment for the reduction of defects, overall process improvement, and/or the reduction of downtime.

  • Capture and maintain a record of settings for each tool / part to ensure production repeatability.

  • Use measurement equipment / gauges i.e, Vernier callipers, depth gauges to confirm components meet specification.

  • Optimise processes, identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency.

  • Collaborate with various departments, streamlining operations and achieving production targets.

  • Coordinate production operators, monitor performance and provide feedback to boost productivity.

  • Generate reports on production targets, quality metrics and efficiencies.

  • Provide guidance, training and support to enhance team skills.

  5. Experience in a production/manufacturing environment.

  6. Experience in leading a small team.

  7. Strong and effective communication skills.

  8. Proactively driven to take and lead task completion.

  9. Competent user of IT and systems (In-house training will be provided).

  10. Excellent eye for detail.

  11. Ability to follow and give instructions.

Qualifications

  1. Experience starting up and shutting down injection moulding presses.

  2. Experience changing moulds using an overhead crane / fork truck.

  3. Experience adjusting process parameters to correct cosmetic and dimensional defects in plastic injection moulded parts.

  4. Must be computer literate and willing and able to perform necessary required documentation (set up sheets, process qualification & optimisation, start-up checklist, first off.)

  5. Ability to read technical drawings.

  6. Fork lift truck licence.

  7. Ability to communicate to peers, other departments and management.

  8. Ability to use measurement equipment / gauges.
