Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Calibration Engineer to join our well-established client based in the Blackwood area.

This role presents a unique chance to become a part of a dedicated team within a well-established Engineering company.

Position Summary:
Ensuring all testing, measuring equipment and machinery are fit for purpose, calibrated and repaired when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To perform all activities and duties in accordance with the relevant requirements of ISO17025, ISO17065 and the Quality Management System Policies and Procedures at all times

  • Ensure that all calibrated laboratory equipment is calibrated to UKAS standards on time in coordination with the Facilities Operation Manager and Laboratory managers.

  • Coordinate with the laboratories to ensure that on time calibrations are planned into the work schedules accordingly.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of the clients activities at all times, including that of its clients.

  • To act impartially at all times, declaring any potential conflict of interest to the client

  • Ensure a safe working practices are maintained at all times in line with the clients procedures.

  • Sets up test equipment and conducts proof tests on performance and reliability of testing equipment.

  • Confers with Laboratory Manager's, Laboratory supervisors, Facilities staff and other laboratory technical staff to assist with equipment on Calibration matters.

  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment in line with Calibration requirements.

  • Modifies performance and operation of component parts and circuitry to specifications, using test equipment and precision instruments.

  • To assist and cooperate with other team members at all times.

  • To identify and suggest solutions for problems that may occur in Calibration of Test equipment.

  • A willingness to take on additional responsibilities within own capability when requested.

  • Use of IT systems, to include Word, Excel and Email and Qualer, as required.

  • Accurate completion of records in accordance with ISO 17025 and UKAS

  • Development of calibration systems in line with corporate goals and UKAS requirements.

Education & Certification Qualifications:

  • Relevant Calibration or Engineering qualification
