Maintenance Engineer
Candour Talent Recruitment is delighted to represent a leading engineering company based in Caerphilly; our client is searching for an experienced Maintenance Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised company who is an industry leader within the UK and European markets.
About the Role
As a maintenance engineer, you'll be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery in industrial settings. You will oversee routine maintenance and organise repairs. You'll also be involved with control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance.
Your role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing and processing industries. Working with other professionals, you'll improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.
Hours of work:
Initially you would start working a Days / Afternoons pattern 06:00am - 14:00pm Monday - Friday. This will likely lead to a 3 shift rotating pattern Monday - Friday consisting of days, nights & afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
To conduct planned preventative maintenance including the scheduling of this activity.
To provide mechanical breakdowns for all activities carried out on the site.
To provide electrical breakdown cover for all activities carried out on the site.
To carry out building and site maintenance for the site.
To provide input into the specification of new manufacturing equipment to ensure that it is of robust design and will not pose any problems with regard to servicing and maintenance.
To carry out installation of production equipment including electrical and pneumatic services as required.
To support, and anticipate in, continuous improvement activities as required within all areas of the business.
Provide guidance on installation and service (power, air etc) requirements for all production and non-production equipment as necessary.
Key Requirements
Experience of Electrical Fault Finding.
Experience of Automation and Robot Cells.
Experience of Chemical process line.
Experience of CNC machining.
Mechanical maintenance experience.
Ideally NVQ Level 4 HNC Background.
Electrical qualifications (18th Edition BS7671).
Good English skills both orally and written.
Good level of MS office and IT competence.
Good knowledge of hydraulics and Hydraulic systems.
Good knowledge of pneumatics (Pumps, valves, Fluid flow Control).
Good Knowledge Mechanical (Pipe Fitting Gear boxes, Shafts, Bearings, Pumps, Fans etc.).
Good knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Organised and structured way of working.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Good work ethic and drive to complete work.
Good time management /planning skills.
Good problem analysis and solving skills.
