Location: Brynmawr

Employment Type: Temp to Perm

Working Hours: 08:30 am - 17:00 - Flexibility required.

Salary: £12.40

Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Van Driver to join our well-established client based in the Brynmawr area.

Job Description:

Position will be subject to a DBS/driving license check

Responsible for delivering, installing, and providing training on beds, mattresses, and other equipment as per business instructions, ensuring customer expectations and satisfaction are met.

Main Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Service Centre Manager to collect, load, and deliver products while making collections as per the provided list.
  • Maintain the company vehicle to a high standard of cleanliness and ensure regular mechanical upkeep and servicing.
  • Install, collect, and exchange equipment as required. Some items can exceed 130kg, requiring extensive manual handling, including bending, lifting, and working at floor level.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and installations.
  • Clean a wide range of returned products, including hospital beds, dynamic/static mattresses, and medical equipment spare parts.
  • Use appropriate cleaning materials, chemicals, and procedures in compliance with the Infection Control Policy.
  • Correctly dispose of waste/clinical waste following the Infection Control Policy.
  • Check that all equipment is clean and functional before use, reporting any faults immediately to the Service Centre Manager.
  • Conduct weekly temperature checks on the washing machine as required.
  • Ensure the correct use and wearing of PPE, including waterproof footwear, at all times when performing cleaning duties.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of decontamination and cleaning areas, ensuring separation of clean and dirty zones.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and report any concerns to the Service Centre Manager.
  • Accurately record all equipment movements, completing necessary paperwork and documentation.
  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning products and PPE, reporting to the Service Centre Manager when replenishment is needed.
  • Report all losses and/or damages immediately to the Service Centre Manager.
  • Assist with the induction and training of new and existing staff.
  • Attend department meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding service user/client details and any information obtained during employment.
  • Perform any other duties as required by management that align with company objectives and goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High standards in personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Willingness to engage in training and personal development.
  • Ability to perform daily manual handling of heavy and awkward items, including mattresses weighing over 20kg. Some contracts may require handling at least 15 mattresses per day, involving a minimum of 30 lifts.
  • Capability to handle heavily soiled products returned for cleaning, including exposure to bodily fluids.
