Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for an CAD Technician to join our well-established client based in the Chepstow area.

Job Purpose

As CAD Technician you will produce accurate and comprehensive technical drawings. You will play a crucial role in translating concept designs and specifications into precise manufacturing and drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and product requirements. In addition, you create Technical documentation and instructions to enable our customers to accurately fabricate our products. This role requires a strong understanding of aluminium fenestration systems and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities and Activities

• Produce detailed and accurate CAD drawings for aluminium doors, windows, curtain walling, and other related fenestration products, taking initial concepts from the Design Manager through to manufacturing.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and client requirements to develop appropriate technical solutions.
• To create and maintain technical manuals and technical bulletins
• Prepare cutting lists, material schedules, and fabrication drawings for prototype production.
• Collaborate closely with the Design Manager, sales teams, fabricators, and installers to ensure design intent and technical feasibility.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts or technical issues in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
• To carry out thermal simulations to ensure concepts meet with current thermal regulations and product specifications
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building regulations, British Standards and company quality standards.
• Manage and maintain drawing registers and documentation control systems.
• Assist in the development of standard details and product libraries.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software advancements, and new product developments in aluminium fenestration.
• Any other duties that may be required.
