Engineer, South Wales

Full-Time | Permanent | Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-1pm


Join a thriving business as a skilled Engineer supporting high-volume manufacturing operations. You'll play a key role in maintaining, improving, and ensuring the reliability of production and facilities equipment, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled, hands-on Engineer with a positive attitude and solid experience in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Deliver safe, effective, and timely engineering support to the production team

  • Maintain machinery through a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule

  • Log and report unplanned breakdowns, highlighting any machine capability concerns

  • Procure and manage inventory for machine and facility spares

  • Assist with the movement and installation of new and existing machinery

  • Support capital improvement and workflow efficiency projects

  • Coordinate external contractors/suppliers for maintenance works

  • Conduct root cause analysis to support quality investigations and problem solving

  • Promote and maintain strong health & safety practices across all activity


What We're Looking For:

  • Strong team player with great communication and proven technical skill

  • Solid experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic fault finding

  • Machine setting and parameter adjustment skills

  • Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics

  • Competent in the safe use of tools and working from height (MEWPs/platforms)

  • Understanding of lean methods (e.g., 5S, Pareto, RCA, countermeasures)

  • Experience creating risk assessments and safe work instructions

  • Industry knowledge of UPVC window/door manufacturing machinery is a bonus
    (e.g., STUGA, Urban, Rotox, Pertici, SCM)


Required Qualifications:

  • BTEC Level 3 and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Maintenance Engineering

  • Multiskilled background - mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic


Desirable:

  • Forklift Truck (Combi lift / Counterbalance) licence

  • MEWP / Scissor Lift licence

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

  • IOSH, NEBOSH or L3 Facilities Management Qualification
