Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join a well-established team that can deliver engineering support to our operations and cover engineering functions daily. This is a full-time, permanent position, with fully funded and supported training available for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Provide efficient maintenance support to the production function.

  • Recording and reporting daily unplanned breakdowns and machinery capability concerns to management.

  • Provide proactive machinery maintenance to reduce unplanned breakdowns, reduce costs of remakes, and improve production efficiency.

  • Assist with movement, installation, and repositioning of machinery.

  • Provide high standard, safe, reliable, and efficient facilities maintenance support to the business as necessary.

  • Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to support production and facilities maintenance as necessary.

  • Record and report proactive health and safety concerns.

  • Provide support to production and quality functions with defect investigation using proven root cause analysis techniques.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent mechanical, electrical and pneumatic fault-finding experience, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Hands on capability to resolve day to day maintenance issues in an effective and timely manner.

  • Relevant qualifications - minimum BTEC L3 and NVQ L3 in maintenance engineering or similar.

  • Experience in use of lean management processes i.e., 5S, and problem-solving tools i.e., pareto, root cause analysis and countermeasures.

  • Experience of machine setting and parameter adjustment as necessary to ensure optimum quality of finished product.

  • Knowledge of Engineering manuals, drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Excellent communication skills and a team player

  • Desirable, not essential - Forklift Truck licence, MEWP/Scissor Lift licence, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification, Facilities management L3 qualification or similar, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification or similar
